Sonora, CA - California Gold Development Corporation, a Northern California real estate development and construction firm, will be constructing a new ARCO ampm gas station and convenience store, along with a McDonald’s in Los Banos, CA. Construction is set to begin in Q3 of 2012, with expected completion in Q1 of 2013.
California Gold will oversee the project as developer, builder, and landlord. California Gold Energy, a subsidiary of California Gold, will be the onsite operator of the ARCO ampm. This is the second ARCO ampm venture that the company has completed; the first project was in Sonora, CA. “We’re pleased to be partnering once again with ARCO, ampm, and McDonald’s. Our first project with them, in Sonora, moved swiftly and professionally, and we’re looking forward to our next phase of work together,” says Jim Todd, Chief Operating Officer of California Gold.
The new building will be 6,800 square feet of commercial-use space, including 2,900 square foot ARCO ampm convenience store, which will feature 18 gas pumps and car wash. The adjoining McDonald’s will be 3,900 square feet with a drive-thru lane. The new project is estimated to create approximately 60 part-time and full-time jobs.
Today, there are approximately 900 ARCO branded gasoline and ampm convenience stores serving nearly 2,200 different products. Together, ARCO and ampm sites serve about 24 million customers per month.
