Sonora, CA - California Gold Development, a leading development, construction, and real estate firm based in Northern California, is sponsoring the Tuolumne County Habitat for Humanity 2012 Home Builder’s Blitz program. Over the course of just six weeks, California Gold will be lending labor and materials to help the nonprofit organization construct two homes.
California Gold is supplying the subcontractors, obtaining discounted materials, and donating supplies to assist in the construction of the two homes, which are being built in Parrott’s Ferry Village, near Sonora, where California Gold is headquartered. “We’ve always been a strong supporter of Habitat for Humanity, and we’re honored to be the sponsor for this year’s Tuolumne County Home Builder’s Blitz. We strongly believe in their mission to provide quality homes for families in need,” says Scot Patterson, President of California Gold Development.
The Habitat for Humanity Home Builder’s Blitz program takes place nationwide between Habitat affiliates and the building community, who work together to build and renovate homes for families in need. Over 100 Habitat affiliates are participating in the 2012 program.

About Habitat for Humanity Tuolumne County Habitat for Humanity of Tuolumne County (HFHTC) is an independent affiliate of Habitat for Humanity, International. Like International, HFHTC is dedicated to eliminating substandard housing. Habitat believes every man, woman and child should have a decent, affordable home where they can live in dignity and safety. As an independent affiliate, Habitat for Humanity is responsible for obtaining their own funding for operations and to build homes. Most of their funding comes from local donations and grants. They typically build 1000-1200 square foot, single-family homes with three bedrooms, 1 1/2 bathrooms. Habitat sells the home to a selected family through an interest-free mortgage for the cost of materials used in building the house. The mortgage payments go into the Building Fund which is used exclusively in the construction of more homes. HFHTC has been a local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International in good standing since 1999.
